The Department of Nursing and Health Sciences at Coastal Carolina University offers multiple pathways to obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing for those wishing to advance their education and find success in today’s health care industry.
The traditional four-year BSN prelicensure and RN-to-BSN completion programs develop current concepts and skills needed to succeed in fast-paced, high-demand health care positions critical to community health and wellbeing.
Each program prepares students to implement roles that require commitment to evidence-based practice, professionalism and professional ethics, health promotion and disease prevention, utilization of technology, and collaboration to promote patient safety and quality care. Students will learn a variety of lessons in the classroom, including health assessment, community health nursing, transcultural care, health policy and leadership in nursing, nursing research, and real-life case studies.
Career opportunities for students graduating with a nursing degree include roles in hospitals, retirement or assisted living facilities, community clinics, health departments, schools or universities, and other various health care agencies. Admission to the four-year prelicensure BSN pathway is not test optional.
The nursing program located in Conway, SC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), 3390 Peachtree Road NE, Suite 1400, Atlanta, GA 30326 (404) 975-5000.
